What to expect during a Massage at Alluna

Picture
Going into the massage therapy room you will find it to be peaceful. There will be a padded massage table with clean sheets and a blanket if you need. The lighting will be soft. There will be relaxation music softly playing in the background and a lit candle to give the room ambience.

The LMT will instruct you to undress to your level of comfort and then lie under the sheet face up.  She will will leave the room to give you privacy to undress and knock on the door to re- enter when you are comfortable and ready to begin your session.

The top sheet appropriately drapes you at all times. Only the part of the body  that is being worked on on is exposed.

While Face up, your scalp, face, neck, shoulders, hands, arms, legs and feet will receive massage therapy.

Your therapist will use a light Massage cream or oil to allow your muscles to be massaged without causing excessive friction to the skin.
Communication is very important during a massage therapy session; so at any time you feel the pressure is too deep or
even too light, please let your LMT know.

After 30 minutes, you will be asked turn on to your stomach.  She will hold the sheet in such a way that you are never exposed.
Once you are comfortable, the last 30 minutes focuses on your back, legs, shoulders, and neck. Of course if there were specific areas needing extra attention, that would also be the focus.

A typical Massage Therapy session lasts for 60 minutes. We gently let you know that your session is over and leave the room for you to redress. Some people experience light-headedness after a massage therapy session, so always take your time getting up.

Since toxins are released from your soft tissues during a massage, it is recommended you drink plenty of water following your massage.

*Alluna wants all our guests to feel comfortable in the treatment room.  We also want out LMT to feel comfortable while working.
If a client shows any type of inappropriate behavior while having the treatment.  The therapist will stop the treatment immediately and leave the room.
